Our Mission

Random Acts of Kindness & Epic Acts of Service

RAK Louisville has been granted Tax Exempt status by the IRS under section 501 (c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC Section 170.

Thanks for donating to RAK Louisville and trusting us with your giving.

This is the #1 question that is asked of us.

How can we help?

Well, we would love to mobilize all of you to go ahead and make snack bags. This will be a great meal supplement for students and adults who need some help with food during these weeks. We have to support them through our community and grassroots channels.

Snack Bags!

Dinner on us at Subway in KL.

By Andrew | December 7, 2013

This is a post/idea from Aunty Jackie and family who live in Kuala Lumpur. They have been so awesome in doing RAK in KL this month. Yesterday’s RAK (random act of kindness) – following from our friend’s son Andrew Dunn’s RAK initiative in Louisville KY, we too have joined in and yesterday we paid the bill for a stranger who stood behind us at Subway. He was so stunned when he found out that he came up to us to say thank you and shook our hands! I think that is  a great idea to buy someone’e dinner when they are not expecting it. It is a great way to get to know someone and make a friend. Great Job Ambrose family in KL!!!

RAK Kuala Lumpur – in traffic!

By Andrew | December 5, 2013

This post is written by Andrew’s Mum – Shareen Dunn. This has to be the ultimate RAK in Malaysia. Our friends Sam and Jackie, have decided to GIVE WAY, to anyone who has the courtesy to use their indicators as they e drive to work (in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)! Wow. I have added a pic of a fraction of KL’s traffic for our friends from Louisville to understand why this is an amazing RAK. You just have to Google traffic in Kuala Lumpur to understand the magnitude of this. Thanks Sam and Jackie for engaging with Andrew’s project even when you guys are all halfway around the world from us. This make us miss you just a little less.  Andrew is thrilled beyond words that you would take it so seriously and start a RAK Kuala Lumpur!

Invent a Christmas Milk Shake …

By Andrew | December 4, 2013

Invent a Christmas Milk Shake and invite your family and friends over to share it This is a really easy and maybe the funnest idea for a random act of kindness. Firstly, invent a milk shake recipe. This is the best part. You can pick your favorite ice-cream and then just add milk, chocolate syrup, caramel, etc. I added sprinkled to my chocolate ice-cream. Then I added milk and blended it. I also invited some friends to come over – they have 2 kids. We had a milk-shake party yesterday. It was so much fun and the first milk shake party my friends had been to. They looked being invited and it was something fun and quick we could do on a school day.

Hi. Meet Andrew

Andrew Dunn is the founder of a movement called RAK Louisville (Random Acts of Kindness Louisville). Andrew started this movement as a 5th grader in December 2012 and his goal is to flood the city of Louisville with random acts of kindness and epic acts of service. As the leader of this movement, he works hard to identify serving opportunities throughout the community that are suitable for students, promote RAK Louisville projects and continue to raise up RAK Louisville team leaders who can lead projects.

Andrew is a student at duPont Manual High School and is always happy to hear from anyone in the community interested in RAK Louisville.

About RAK Louisville

RAK Louisville (Random Acts of Kindness Louisville) is  a movement to flood this city of Louisville with random acts of kindness and epic acts of service. We identify serving opportunities throughout the community that are suitable for students, promote RAK Louisville projects and continue to raise up RAK Louisville team leaders who can lead projects throughout our community. The Mayor of Louisville has proclaimed December 23rd as Random Acts of Kindness Louisville (RAK Louisville) Day. We work hard to encourage as many people and teams to participate on this day to bring awareness to RAKLouisville.

We launch monthly challenges that benefit different grassroots organizations that serve the homeless and needy in the Louisville area. We are committed to spreading the idea of kindness and service in schools through RAK Clubs. We want to continue to challenge students to use their passion to change our city and live their lives with purpose.

Don’t live in Louisville? You may have to start one in your community!
